Research details
Areas of research interest
Pinealon is discussed in aging and brain research, mainly for neuroprotection and cognitive function. It belongs to the same family of short "bioregulator" peptides as Epitalon. Pinealon is not approved by FDA for any use.
Overview
Pinealon is a synthetic tripeptide (Glu-Asp-Arg) developed by the same St. Petersburg research group that developed Epitalon. Like other peptides from this group, it was designed as a short sequence intended to act on gene expression in specific tissues.
Research summary
Evidence base. Published research on Pinealon is limited, comes mainly from the group that developed it, and consists largely of cell-culture and animal studies. No controlled human trials have been published.
