Research details

Areas of research interest

CJC-1295 without DAC is studied as a stimulator of the body's own growth hormone (GH) release. Interest centers on GH and IGF-1 secretion, body composition, and age-related GH decline. It is not approved by FDA for any use.

Overview

CJC-1295 without DAC, also called Modified GRF(1-29), is a 29-amino-acid analogue of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). Four amino acid substitutions protect it from rapid enzymatic breakdown. Unlike the DAC version, it lacks the albumin-binding group, so its activity is much shorter.

Research summary

Shared sequence. The same modified GRF(1-29) sequence, in its DAC form, produced dose-dependent increases in GH and IGF-1 in healthy adults [1]. Most published clinical data come from that DAC version, and dedicated human studies of the no-DAC form are limited.

GHRH(1-29) research. GHRH(1-29) is the shortest fragment of natural GHRH that keeps full activity. A review of the unmodified form (sermorelin) argued that stimulating the pituitary preserves natural GH secretion patterns better than giving GH directly [2].
