Overview
Bacteriostatic Water for Injection, USP is sterile, nonpyrogenic water for injection with 0.9% (9 mg/mL) benzyl alcohol added as a bacteriostatic preservative. The preservative suppresses bacterial growth after the stopper is punctured. That means one vial can be drawn from many times instead of once, which is why it’s the standard diluent for reconstituting lyophilized peptides in the lab.
This product is manufactured by Hospira, Inc., a Pfizer company, under FDA labeling. It ships in the original sealed, multiple-dose vial.
